Sports Camps

The 90+ Project believes that soccer is a powerful tool for promoting the physical, mental, and emotional development, well-being, and recreation of young people. We’re passionate about using the beautiful game to create a strong sense of community, support mental wellness, and build character, sportsmanship, and leadership. Our goal is to empower youth to reach their full potential—regardless of economic background.

The City of Spokane Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for the professional management and prudent caretaking of all park land and park facilities including Riverfront Park, Manito Park, Gaiser Conservatory and the many city-wide gardens, Finch Arboretum and the Urban Forestry Program, and 87 neighborhood parks.

🏇 Horseback Riding Camp 

  • Ages: 8 – 13 years  
  • Dates: Multiple Options  
  • Location: Meet at Relational Riding Academy, 3714 W Anderson Rd, Cheney WA. 
  • Description: Open to beginners and kids of all levels of experience. Limited to 20 participants working in groups of 5 for both riding and other activities. Kids will not only learn to ride they will also learn all about horses!

SYSA has been contributing to youth sports in the Greater Spokane region for over 50 years. Most families in the Spokane area have been involved with SYSA as players, coaches, or spectators since it began as a junior football organization in 1966. Since then they have grown to over 12,000 participants from the ages of 4 to 18 who participate in a variety of sports programs and camps, including basketball, soccer, flag football, baseball, softball, volleyball, track & field, and cross-country.

The Warehouse Athletic Facility was built by John Stockton in 2002 as a comprehensive athletic and recreation center. It features 5 full basketball courts, 6 regulation volleyball courts, an indoor baseball complex, and a studio space. We host a variety of sports and recreational activities, as well as offer a series of basketball tournaments throughout the year. We also host a number of leagues and events for community sports organizations in youth basketball, volleyball and soccer.

  • Description: Camp Fire Camp Sweyolakan on Lake Coeur d’Alene helps youth build strong characters, values and life skills.   • Description: Welcome to B.A.S.E. Camp! From here, big adventures await. During daily excursions, you will expand your skills in a variety of activities with awesome counselors and professional guides. Take aim with disc golf, come together as a team to paddle raft down the river, seek out wildlife on kayaks, explore meandering shorelines on a paddleboard, and take yourself to new heights with outdoor rock climbing!

🌲 B.A.S.E. Camp – Big Adventure Skills and Exploration Adventure Leadership 

  • Ages: 11 – 13 years

  • Location: Meets daily at the Riverside State Park Bowl & Picher Picnic Shelter. 
  • Description: Take charge of your adventure! This camp focuses on fun, teamwork, and skill development. Throughout the week, campers will have chances to solve problems, help others, discover their strengths, and have a great time doing it. Each day builds on the excitement and learning of the previous day, and we take a mega field trip to somewhere awesome!

⛺ Wilderness Survival Camps for Youth  

  • Ages: 6 – 14 years, camp dependent

  • Location: Meet at Riverside State Park – Equestrian Area. 
  • Description: No prerequisites needed. This camp goes in depth into critical survival skills using fun, challenging real life scenarios. Participants work on their own and in teams to problem solve various skills challenges and scenarios while learning skills such as shelter, fire, tool use, knife safety, traps, rope and knots, plant uses, animal tracking, primitive skills, navigation, and more! I

🤝 Summer Serve Camps

  • Description: Our camps are designed to offer students a fun and exciting opportunity to dive deep into the needs of their city. Throughout the week, students will volunteer at various local non-profits where they spend time working for each organization learning the work that goes into solving needs in their community. These service opportunities are surrounded by fun games, group building activities, and of course the all-city scavenger hunt.

Therapeutic Recreation Services strives to provide enjoyable specialized and adaptive recreational activities for individuals with disabilities. Our purpose is to create positive experiences that develop appropriate leisure and social skills in our participants. By developing these skills participants can become increasingly self-confident, courageous, and independent. We want our customers to feel right at home and to make new friends with staff and other participants.

☀️ TRS Funshine Summer Day Camp

  • Ages: 6 – 21 years

  • Location: Drop off and pick up will be at the Shadle Library, 2111 W. Wellesley Ave
  • Description: Funshine Day Camp is a fun-filled camp for those with developmental and/or physical disabilities. Campers will have the opportunity to interact and socialize with their peers through crafts, music, science experiments, books, board games, group activities, and more. Fridays are field trip days to a variety of exciting locations. Each week the camp centers around a different theme. We celebrate the end of summer with our annual Potluck BBQ & Carnival. 🔍 Neighborhood Scavenger Hunt

  • Dates & Locations:  All summer long, in your neighborhood!
  • Description: This ongoing activity invites families to explore Spokane’s local green spaces and free community spots through fun, clue-based scavenger hunts. Designed to highlight the hidden gems of our city, the scavenger hunts encourage families to get outside, work together, and discover new places and people who help build a sense of belonging in our community. Each month, participating families are entered into a drawing to win a prize basket filled with local goodies. The goal is to foster connection, not just within families, but also between neighbors and the broader Spokane community.

⚽ Free Summer Jamborees

  • Description: Jamborees are a local celebration of soccer. These free events are organized by 90+ to provide additional opportunities for kids to play, experience a tournament style competition, and further connect our local soccer community. Bikesaretheanswer.org is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit founded to help kids and families thrive. Our mission is to foster a fun and inclusive environment where students can find community and healthy competition through biking. We focus on delivering a fun and inclusive environment because it unleashes internal motivation and drive in ways coaches and parents typically can’t. We make it easy for parents and families to connect and build friendships through volunteering and coaching because everyone seems to thrive when this happens. We named ourselves bikesaretheanswer because as a tool set, biking outside with friends, in the form we are structured to deliver, helps kids and families thrive.

🚲 Bike Teams

  • Description: Riders between 2nd and 5th grades enroll in our recreational Rippers program. Riders in grades 6 through 12 can opt into a race team, or ride with the teams through the non competitive BATA Devo program. All practices break into groups based on skill and fitness. We make room for all interested riders.

Emmanuel Fitness Center offers a dynamic youth basketball training program that helps 4th–6th grade, middle school, and high school athletes grow in skill, confidence, and athletic performance through basketball fundamentals, safe introductory weight training, and speed, agility, and quickness drills. Athletes develop ball handling, shooting, passing, defense, footwork, conditioning, strength, coordination, and leadership in a positive, structured environment designed for their age and ability level.

🏇 Therapeutic Riding

  • Description: We offer spring, summer, fall and winter sessions. Our summer session runs from June 22 through August 21. Classes are 30-60 minutes, once per week. We offer morning or afternoon classes. No prior horse experience is required!
