Activity Details

Paws to Read is a heartwarming and innovative program designed to support young readers by offering them a non-judgmental, calming environment to practice their reading skills. Certified therapy dogs, trained to provide comfort and companionship, give children the opportunity to read aloud to them. This program fosters confidence in young readers while also creating a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere for learning. Readers will take turns in the order that they arrive. All canine friends are registered and insured through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. Reading at this program will count toward your Summer Reading Club goals to win prizes.

Participate in our Summer Reading Club reading challenge between June 1 and August 31 for the chance to win fun prizes! Sign up and use Beanstack to track your reading. By attending library programs, you are agreeing to potentially appear in photos/videos taken at our locations that may be used in promotional materials including social media. We strive to make events welcoming for people of all abilities. To request accommodations (i.e. hearing assistance, ASL requests, or other ADA inquiries), email [email protected] all event information inquiries, email [email protected] or call 509-444-5300.
