Roots & Rising
July 6–10 | Ages 12–15

Roots & Rising is our adolescent camp grounded in ancestral skills, land-based learning, and embodied confidence.

This week invites teens into hands-on experiences that reconnect them to the natural world and their own capability within it. Campers will work with their hands, learn practical skills rooted in ancestral knowledge, and spend intentional time building relationship with the land. Activities include skill-building projects, nature-based problem solving, cooperative challenges, and guided reflection.

Local knowledge holders from our community will join us throughout the week to share skills, stories, and lived wisdom. This intergenerational exchange is a core part of the camp and offers teens a powerful sense of belonging and continuity.

The heart of Roots & Rising is resilience. Not the kind that comes from pushing through, but the kind that grows when teens experience themselves as capable, trusted, and connected to something real.

The week culminates in a Trade Blanket Gathering, where campers will present and trade items, skills, or knowledge they have cultivated throughout the week with fellow campers and invited parents and guardians. This closing experience honors contribution, reciprocity, and community exchange.
