Activity Details

Ages 10–14

Registration is required. One registration covers both days.

If you love robots but aren’t technically inclined, then Hebocon is for you! Founder Daiju Ishikawa says, “Hebocon’s concept is to enjoy failure and to enjoy incompetence.” In this two-part workshop, you create a robot from assorted junk and gadgets on the first day and your robot competes in a sumo-style battle on day two. Prizes are awarded not just to the winning robot but to the most “heboi” (poor quality) robot as well. All supplies are provided by the library.
